Jeg er super tilfreds med at være en del af Lige Under Overfladen 12 – Efter fødslen! Endelig er novellesamlingen på gaden, og nu bliver det spændende at kigge på nettet efter lektørudtalelse og eventuelle anmeldelser. Det ser igen ud til at være et skønt mix af historier med stor bredde og fra forfattere i næsten alle aldre.
Min historie ‘Timen’ er en slem blodig sag, inspireret af ting, som indiansk tortur, snuff-videoer, kroppe til låns og udødelighed. Bagerst i hovedet har jeg tænkt på Richard K. Morgans fantastiske cyberpunk roman Altered Carbon.
Fra ‘Timen’: “Jeg rykkede til, men tangen smuttede. Jeg skulle bruge tre forsøg for at få øjet til at slippe kraniets trygge hule med en sugende lyd.”
(At jeg så har fundet to tryk-/skrivefejl ved første gennemlæsning i den trykte bog rider mig til gengæld som en mare! IKKE GODT NOK!) 😀
Fra sidste års udgivelse fra Science Fiction Cirklen: Lige under Overfladen 11 – Lidenskab og Lysår – har jeg stadig nogle noveller, som giver genlyd i hovedet. Det er fx A.Silvestris historie ‘I fædrelandets tjeneste’. Det er ikke så meget selve opbygningen eller plottet. Det er i langt højere grad beskrivelsen af maden, som bliver fortæret af hovedpersonen. Der er smag, lugt, tekstur og temperatur og så videre. Super inspirerende beskrevet.
Majbrit Høyrups novelle ‘Slidte Dukker’ fangede mig også. Den var ikke vildt nyskabende. Der er lånt elementer fra talrige lignende historier, og det er helt fint! Konceptet med de midlertidige – men selvstændige – kroppe, som er sendt til andre planeter blander elementer af kloning, sjæl/krop, memory-recording, udforskning, forfald og en masse andre ting. Den er bare godt skrevet med interessante dilemmaer. Der er andre rigtig gode historier, men de to står forrest i hukommelsen.
Jeg er allerede i gang med at producere konkurrence-bidrag til næste års udgivelse, hvis den bliver til noget. Første år afleverede jeg én novelle. Sidste år var det to, så hvis jeg ellers finder tid, ro og inspiration, så vil jeg gå efter tre bidrag i år. Der er dog lidt for meget arbejde og privatliv, der forstyrrer mig for tiden. 😉
I baggrunden lurer en roman, som jeg arbejder på. Der er lang vej endnu til jeg har samling på, hvad det bærende i historien er, men jeg har en helt masse scener beskrevet, som jeg er rigtig tilfreds med. Jeg er i hvert fald på et sted, hvor jeg selv vildt godt gad se filmatiseringen. 😉
